my brother married his wife when he was 24, she was 19. My father was horrified, not only that his Wives want real sex WI Pittsville 54466 only was all of a sudden a grown wanting to leave him and move on, but that his wife-to-be was Catholic. We are Greek-Orthodox. My brother defiantly moves out, plans this wedding without his family, and he converts to catholicism. Again, my father is aghast, since being Greek also is about being Greek-Orthodox. My future sister-in-law thinks we are all assholes, even though she knew me before she dated by brother (we worked at the same store). As wedding day approaches, my parents begged my brother to come back home, and at this point, my dad tries to do the right thing. There was still struggle, but the day went by, brother got married and they live happily to the present. My brother's first also brought on miscommunications as well (think My Big Fat Greek Wedding). Anyways the point of this story is, my dad sounds like your partner's dad. He probably always say/do the wrong thing (well, most of the time). In the end, I'm sure he loves his daughter, it's just he can't make sense of it. My dad now has to reconcile why I choose to a woman. Some days he ignores me, others he just wants to do the right thing and doesn't know what that is. It is not what was in his plans in life, though it is in mine. I can sympathize with your frustration, as it reminds me of what my sister-in-law struggled with for years. I spent a lot of effort reconciling my brother and his wife and my parents. It does get better. ((jrzygrl))
